- Characteristics:
Ferric chloride hexahydrate (FeCI36H2O) is a solid or crystalline form, which is a brown-yellow massive solid with all the properties of ferric chloride.
Ferric chloride hexahydrate has no odor, astringent taste, strong hygroscopicity and deliquescent. It can deliquesce into reddish brown liquid in the air. It is easily soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is strongly acidic, which can cause protein to solidify. Easily soluble in ethanol, liquid sulfur dioxide, ethylamine, aniline, etc., insoluble in glycerin, phosphorus trichloride, etc.
